Indian woman hits record by giving birth to 11 babies at once
An Indian Woman delivered eleven babies at once inside an Indian hospital and she enjoys good health after the operation, many internet forums reported. The woman should be listed in Guinness book of records.
Blogs ran the picture stating that: hospital staff showing 11 babies born on unique date 11/11/11 in Surat. It was also rumored that 6 were twins. Doctors were really surprised, shocked and glad to have successful delivery.
No official news agency has been able to deny or confirm the news, but with calls for the Guiness Book of World Records to authenticate the births, unofficial ‘sources’ have offered more viable explanations.
The most plausible one doing the rounds of forums is that all the 11 babies are not from a single mother.
Though all the babies were born on 11/11/11 and hence 11 of them lined up for the picture, they all have different mothers.
One blog did take the trouble to suggest that given the current performance of India’s cricket team, maybe this Surat hospital was already getting a new eleven ready.

So, these are only the test tube babies and does not belong to one woman…
I take it that the poor woman is not one of the adults standing in the background.
“Test Tube Babies” just means the embryos were fertilized by invitro fertilization and then implanted into the mother’s uterus. It isn’t uncommon to put multiple embryos in the uterus nor for some of them to divide, creating sets of identical twins. Multiple embryos are usually implanted because not all of them survive to full term. Test tube just simply refers to the fertilization of the egg happening outside the mother’s body. The creation of this process has helped many couples who could not concieve naturally, to be able to have kids.
